Reno House Fire Was Probably Caused By Lightning

The fire that destroyed a home in Reno early Wednesday evening was most likely started by lightning.

Firefighters from four companies responded at about 6:30 PM Wednesday to the Darrell Hankey residence on the 400-block of Walnut Street in Reno.  Officials think the fire began considerably earlier.  No one was home at the time, and a neighbor reported the blaze.

Responders battled the fire in a driving rainstorm and were on the scene for about four hours.  No damage was reported to nearby homes.
