Thursday’s winner will face Boston in the American League Championship Series, beginning Saturday.  Jake Peavy and the Red Sox posted a 3-1 win on Tuesday to finish a 3-games-to-one ALDS victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.

Wednesday’s only game will be the final contest in a National League Division Series between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the St. Louis Cardinals to be played at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.  Game time is now set for 8:07 PM.  The Cards tied the Pirates at two games each with a 2-1 win in Pittsburgh on Monday afternoon.

The teams have now met 23 times this season, with the Pirates holding a 12-to-11 advantage in the head-to-head competition.

Wednesday’s winner faces off against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series, starting Friday.
