State agricultutre officials say some 550,000 people attended the 97th annual Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg last week.

Unseasonably warm weather was one of the main factors in the larger crowds.

Pennsylvania Agriculture Secretary George Greig, from Linesville, said the expo, already known as the largest indoor agricultural exhibit in the country, boasted the “best animals, the best produce, the best handmade items.”

And, during the week, the Pennsylvania Farm Show Foundation awarded $3,500 scholarships to 25 students as the organization observed its 20th anniversary.
