The latest confirmed testing for rabies has come from a fox found in Forest County.

State officials say the fox attacked a dog at a residence on Oak Lane Road in Harmony Township.  The dog’s owner captured the ailing fox, and turned it over to the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

Lab tests confirmed the animal had been stricken with rabies.  The dog reportedly has been quarantined.  There was no word as to whether the dog’s owner required medical treatment.
