A new Quinnipiac poll shows several potential Democratic gubernatorial candidates would defeat incumbent Republican Governor Tom Corbett if the 2014 Pennsylvania governor’s election were held today.
Three of the leading Democrats who may challenge Corbett lead the governor by at least nine points in the new Quinnipiac survey of Pennsylvania voters.
The poll shows former Congressman Joe Sestak with a 48 percent to 34 percent edge among the surveyed voters. Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz holds a 47-to-34 advantage over Corbett, and state Treasurer Rob McCord holds a 44-to-35 edge.
The election is still more than 18 months away.
