Providence To Be Next Robert Morris Opponent – Game Is Monday

Robert Morris basketball players and fans centered their attention Wednesday night on the first-round NIT basketball tournament contest between Providence and Charlotte.

The attraction occurred one night after the RM Colonials knocked off defending national champion Kentucky 59-57 on the tourney’s opening night.  The Colonials (24-10) were eager to learn their next opponent.

Bryce Cotton led four Friars players in double figures, bucketing 25 points, as Providence (18-14) bested Charlotte 75-66.  Vincent Council added 16 points, Kris Dunn recorded 14 and LaDontae Henton tallied 13.

E. Victor Nickerson led Charlotte (21-12) with 14 points.

Robert Morris will travel to the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence for a matchup on Monday at 7:00 PM with the Friars in the semifinal round of the NIT’s Region One competition.
