A pair of clinics covering Pennsylvania’s Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program will be held in Venango County over the next couple of weeks.
The Franklin VFW will host the first clinic on Thursday, February 27 from 9:30 AM until 3:30 PM. Another will be held at the Free Methodist Church on Wilson Avenue in Oil City on Wednesday, March 26 during the same hours. Representatives from the office of state Representative Lee James will be available to help those who attend determine eligibility, obtain application forms and learn answers to their questions about the program.
The Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program provides hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians with breaks on housing costs by offering rebates on the rent or property taxes they have paid over the previous year. The exact amount of money that may be received varies based on income levels, but it can total as much as $650.
You must be a Pennsylvania resident, and age 65 or older, or a widow or widower age 50 or older, or someone with permanent disabilities age 18 or older. Income eligibility is cut off at $35,000 annually for homeowners and $15,000 for renters.
You must present proof of age, proof of rent or property taxes paid and proof of income.
