The murder trial for 14 year-old Zachary Proper has been scheduled for the January session of trials in Venango County Court.
The Oil City teenager was ordered in July to be tried as an adult in the shooting deaths in October, 2012 of his grandparents, George and Dorothy Fross, from Sandycreek Township. The couple were shot and killed at their home on the “Polk Cutoff” on a weekend in which Proper was staying with them.
Proper’s attorney entered a not guilty plea in a court session in August.
President Judge Oliver Lobaugh on Wednesday scheduled jury selection for Proper’s trial for January 6. The trial itself is currently slated for the following week.
