Prison Sentence Appeal By Area Doctor Is Denied

February 23, 2018
By

A state appeals court has denied arguments by an area doctor that his prison sentence on charges involving the illegal prescriptions of medications for some of his female patients is too lengthy for a man of his age.

72 year-old Thomas Radecki also claimed one witness in his Clarion County Court trial should not have been allowed to testify and that a key witness was never called.

Pennsylvania Superior Court ruled Thursday that Radecki’s age is not a factor, and  against the other arguments in his appeal.

Radecki was convicted in 2016 on charges that stemmed from allegations that he provided prescriptions of drugs to as many as thirteen female patients in exchange for promises of sexual favors, and that he fathered a child by one of the women.

At the time, Radecki conducted business, including rehabilitation programs for drug users, at offices in Seneca and Clarion, and in Clearfield and McKean Counties.
