The Pennsylvania State Police have reminded us that this year’s “National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day” is scheduled for Saturday, April 27.
The program is conducted in partnership with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Organizers say “Take-Back” provides a responsible, safe and convenient way of disposing of unused and unwanted prescription medications. It also provides education about the potential for misuse of the medications, and reduces the amount of potentially harmful substances into the environment.
In Venango County, a collection site will be open from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Saturday at the Franklin station of the State Police on Route 322 in Cranberry Township. A list of other drop-off locations is available at www.DEA.gov.
