Powerball Lottery officials say the lone jackpot-winning ticket in the Powerball’s Wednesday game was sold in Milpitas, California, and it could be worth $425 million.
In what would be the sixth-largest jackpot in United States lottery history, game officials just prior to the drawing were estimating the annuity value of the prize at $425 million, and the lump-sum cash value at $242.2 million.
The jackpot had rolled over fifteen times since it was last hit on Christmas night.
One ticket sold in Pennsylvania contained the first five lottery numbers drawn, but not the Powerball number, and officials say it is worth one million dollars.
The winning numbers were 1, 17, 35, 49 and 54, with a Powerball number of 34.
