The St. Petersburg Fire Hall was opened up Tuesday morning to accommodate Lamartine-area residents who were without electrical power, and thus in many cases without heat.

Officials estimated that upwards of 170 customers lost power Monday night when the temperature in Clarion County dropped to as low as -17.   Most electric service was restored by noon on Tuesday.

Other communities, including Oil City, saw localized power outages very early Tuesday morning.  Most of those residents had their service restored by daybreak, but power was again lost to about 1,700 Oil City customers early Tuesday afternoon.  Crews spent most of the remainder of the afternoon correcting those problems.

Other outages were reported in Rockland and in Knox.
