The Franklin Area School Board agreed Monday night to sell the former Polk Elementary School to the County of Venango.

The complex apparently will be utilized as a fifteen-bed personal care home for individuals with intellectual disabilities who are presently housed at Sugarcreek Station.

The grounds on the property will still be used for Polk’s yearly community festival, and there will remain some access to the public to some fishing areas.

The school board’s vote was unanimous.
