Local law enforcement officials say a man wanted in the assault of a woman in a Franklin parking lot early Sunday morning is also a suspect in an attack on a woman in an Oil City lot early Friday.  And now, police say they are also looking for the man’s wife.

A search began in Franklin Sunday for 27 year-old Terrence Loggins, from Franklin, who city police say assaulted a 30 year-old woman in the parking lot of a Grant Street bar shortly after 2:00 AM Sunday.  In Oil City, police have identified Loggins as the driver in a case in which a man and a woman followed another woman into a convenience store parking lot at about 2:45 AM Friday.  Investigators believe that Loggins’ wife, identified as 28 year-old Virginia Umstead, of Franklin, assaulted the woman Loggins had followed, and then fled in their vehicle.

The victim in the Franklin incident was taken to an Erie hospital for treatment.  The woman in the Oil City case suffered facial cuts after having reportedly been hit in the back of the head and forced into a window casement.

Police say Loggins and Umstead are both on parole in drug cases, and they believe they may have spent some or all of the day Tuesday in the Oil City area.
