D.A. Points waited out a lengthy rain delay on Sunday before completing a final-round 6-under-par 66 for a one-stroke victory at the Houston Open at the Redstone Golf Club’s Tournament Course in Humble, Texas.
For Points, who missed the cut in seven of the first nine tournaments he entered this year, it was his second PGA Tour victory. He won last year at Pebble Beach while playing with actor-comedian Bill Murray as his celebrity partner.
Points finished at 16-under-par 272, edging Henrik Stenson and Billy Horschel by one shot and winning $1.116 million.
Ben Crane and Dustin Johnson tied for fourth place at -14.
