A Plum Township woman was charged with homicide early Wednesday morning after her live-in boyfriend died of a gunshot wound he had sustained on Tuesday night.

State Police officials from the Franklin and Corry stations say 39 year-old Tina Shaffer was lodged without bail in the Venango County Jail.

Troopers called to the scene of a domestic dispute at a residence on Wallaceville Road say they found 49 year-old Lloyd Shontz lying on a floor, the victim of a gunshot to the chest.  Shontz died before he could be transported to the hospital.

A statement by a relative of the suspect who also reportedly lives at the Plum Township address led to the arrest of Shaffer.

An autopsy on Shontz’s body was being conducted in Erie on Wednesday.  Investigators released little other information.
