Playoff-Bound Oilers End Franklin’s Season With A 35-7 Win At The Oil Field

Kevin Daly rushed for 211 yards and two touchdowns, and three receivers caught touchdown passes as the Oil City Oilers (6-4; 4-2 in Region 5) handed the Franklin Knights a 35-7 defeat on the final day of the regular season on Friday night at the Oil Field.

In winning the Route 8 Rivalry for the fifth consecutive year, the Oilers primed for a playoff shot against Conneaut (7-3), in a contest which will be played Friday night at 7:00 PM at Franklin High School.  96.3 KQW’s playoff broadcast will begin at 6:00 PM with the Friday Night Football Tailgate Preview Program.

In the week 10 victory over the Knights, Oil City’s sophomore quarterback Jackson McFall completed only 5-of-17 passes for 94 yards, but three of the throws were for touchdowns.  McFall found Logan Way for a 25-yard score, Jesse Rice for a 29-yarder and Frank Serbati for a 30-yard scoring strike.

Franklin, who was held to 21 rushing yards, scored in the third quarter on a 16-yard pass from Kyle Ritchey to Kahlil West.  The Knights finished at 2-8 and with a 1-5 region record.
