A Pittsburgh man who was ejected from his sports car has died, and a passenger is listed in serious condition in a hospital in Erie following a crash in Crawford County on Thursday night.
Accident investigators say the incident occurred shortly after 8:00 PM on Shreve Road in Bloomfield Township. Police say a car driven by 46 year-old Jay Keefer, from Pittsburgh, was traveling at a high rate of speed when it left the road, went up an embankment and into a ditch. The vehicle then traveled up another bank, hit a tree and a mailbox, rolled onto its roof and slid into a field.
Keefer and a passenger identified as 48 year-old Timothy Lamagna, from Union City, were both ejected from the car. Keefer did not survive. Lamagna was rushed to UPMC Hamot in Erie.
