Pitt Wins First ACC Home Game 79-59 Over Maryland

Lamar Patterson’s 19-point performance paced the Pitt Panthers to a 79-59 win over Maryland in their first-ever home ACC game played Monday night at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh.

Recovered from the flu, Durand Johnson added 17 points for the Panthers, and Talib Zanna scored 13.

Pitt (14-1 overall; 2-0 ACC) shot 53 percent from the floor.

Seth Allen led the Terrapins (10-6; 2-1) with 18 points, and Evan Smotrycz tallied 14.

Pitt will host Wake Forest at noon on Saturday.  Radio pregame airtime on ESPN Radio 1120 will be 11:30 AM.
