The University of Pittsburgh will begin Atlantic Coast Conference football play with the opening game of their 2013 schedule, hosting defending ACC champion Florida State on Labor Day night at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. The game at 8:00 PM on September 2 will be televised by ESPN.
Pitt’s other home conference games will be against Virginia on September 28, North Carolina on November 16 and Miami on November 29.
The Panthers will play road ACC contests at Duke on September 21, Virginia Tech on October 12, Georgia Tech on November 2 and Syracuse on November 23.
Pitt was to have opened versus Villanova. ‘Nova is now off the schedule, replaced by a home game against Old Dominion on October 19.
The Panthers’ other home games will come against New Mexico on September 14 and national runner-up Notre Dame on November 9. Pitt will travel to play Navy on October 26.
Pitt finds themselves in the ACC Coastal Division, along with Duke, Georgia Tech, Miami, North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
