Following their loss to Virginia on Saturday in the semifinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament, Pitt (25-9) has been selected as the number-9 seed in the South Region of the upcoming NCAA college basketball tournament, and the Panthers will meet #8 Colorado (23-11) in Orlando at 1:40 PM on Thursday afternoon.
Radio pregame airtime on ESPN Radio 1120 will be 1:00 PM.
Florida is the number-1 seed in the South, and will likely meet the Pitt-Colorado winner on Saturday.
Following conference tournament wins over Wake Forest and North Carolina, Pitt dropped a 51-48 decision to Virginia in the ACC semifinals on Saturday afternoon in Greensboro, North Carolina. Joe Harris led the winning Cavaliers with 12 points. Anthony Gill and Malcolm Brogdon added 10 points apiece. Lamar Patterson and Talib Zanna both scored 15 points for Pitt.
Virginia would go on to defeat Duke in the tournament championship game on Sunday afternoon.
