Freshman quarterback Kenny Pickett ran for two touchdowns and threw for a third score on Friday afternoon as the Pitt Panthers closed their season with a 24-14 victory over previously unbeaten Miami at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.

Pickett completed 18-of-29 passes for 193 yards with no interceptions, and carried the ball 13 times for another 60 yards.  His scoring pass was caught by Qadree Ollison, who also rushed for 62 yards.  Alex Kessman added a 46-yard field goal.  Jester Weah was Pitt’s leading receiver with six catches for 80 yards.

Piss closed at 5-7 overall, and 3-5 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Both touchdowns for Miami (10-1; 7-1 ACC) came on throws from Malik Rosier – a 23-yarder to Ahmmon Richards and a 39-yarder to Braxton Berrios which came with 2:16 remaining in the game.  The Hurricanes subsequently recovered an onside kick, but fumbled the ball back to Pitt.

Rosier completed only 15-of-34 passes for 187 yards with no interceptions.  Berrios caught four of the passes for 61 yards.  Miami rushed for only 45 net yards.
