In whipping DePaul by 38 points, 95-55 at home on Saturday, the Pitt Panthers (17-4; 5-3 Big East) posted their most-lopsided Big East Conference victory ever, and won their fourth straight ballgame overall and their fourth in a row in the Big East.
Trey Ziegler came off the bench to score 18 points, leading the ten Pitt players who made the scorebook. Lamar Patterson added 15 points, and J.J. Moore tallied 10. Steven Adams scored nine points and pulled down 14 rebounds.
Pitt’s biggest rout in the Big East before Saturday was a 36-point win over West Virginia in 2003.
Brandon Young paced DePaul (10-9; 1-5) with 13 points, and Moses Morgan added 11.
The win by Pitt precedes conference matchups with two of the nation’s highest-ranked teams — Louisville on Monday and Syracuse on Saturday. The Syracuse game may be heard on ESPN Radio 1120 (12:00 noon tipoff time) with a radio pregame time of 11:30 AM.
