Marquette shot 57 percent (26-for-46) on their home floor on Saturday afternoon en route to defeating Pitt 70-69.
With the win, the Golden Eagles (18-6; 9-3 Big East) moved into a first-place tie with Georgetown in the Big East Conference. Pitt fell to 20-6 and 8-5.
Vander Blue, one of five Marquette players to reach double figures, and Pitt’s Lamar Patterson led all scorers with 19 points apiece.
Pitt will host Notre Dame on Monday night.
