Pitt Accepts Bid To Dec. 26 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl; FSU-Auburn Are BCS Finalists

The Pitt Panthers, following a 6-6 football season, have accepted a bid to the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl at Ford Field in Detroit.

The Panthers will meet Bowling Green in the game to be played on Thursday, December 26 at 6:00 PM.

Meanwhile, this year’s 33-game bowl schedule is highlighted by a matchup between the top two teams in this week’s BCS poll, #1 Florida State and #2 Auburn.  The Vizio BCS National Championship contest will be the second big game to be played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.  The national champion will be determined at 8:30 PM on Monday, January 6.

The other major BCS games will include the Rose Bowl, featuring Stanford and Michigan State, and the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl at the University of Phoenix, pitting Baylor against Central Florida, both on New Years Day, as well as the Allstate Sugar Bowl between Alabama and Oklahoma on Thursday, January 2 at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans.  Ohio State will play Clemson at the Discover Bowl at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, and Oklahoma State will meet Missouri in the AT&T Cotton Bowl at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, both on Friday, January 3.
