For the second consecutive day, a scheduled game between the Pittsburgh Pirates (10-16) and the Baltimore Orioles (12-12) was postponed on Wednesday because of heavy rains at Camden Yards in Baltimore.
The two teams, neither of whom have played since Sunday, have scheduled a twi-night doubleheader for 4:05 PM Thursday.
The scheduled starting pitchers will remain the same, although their pairings have been shuffled. Pittsburgh’s Charlie Morton (0-3; 4.35 ERA) will face Baltimore’s Bud Norris (1-2; 4.44 ERA) in the twinbill’s opener. The Pirates’ Brandon Cumpton (0-1; 2.57 ERA) will be matched up against the Orioles’ Chris Tillman (3-1; 3.38 ERA) in the nightcap.
The games will mark the first interleague contests of the season for the Pirates, who led the Major Leagues with a 15-5 interleague record last year. The Bucs will continue play against the American League this weekend with a three-game home series against the Toronto Blue Jays.
