Pirates Tally 1-1-1 Record During Weekend Preseason Baseball

Josh Harrison homered and Chris Dickerson drove in two runs Sunday as the Pittsburgh Pirates completed a 1-1-1 weekend in preseason baseball with a 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in Clearwater, Florida.

The Bucs faced a pair of former Pittsburgh pitchers – A.J. Burnett and Brad Lincoln.  Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle started Stolmy Pimentel, who worked two scoreless innings.

On Saturday in Bradenton, Russell Martin homered and Clint Barmes doubled home a run as the Pirates tied the Tampa Bay Rays 2-2 in a 10-inning affair.

Friday, Gaby Sanchez and Matt Hague drove in Pittsburgh runs in a 4-2 loss to Toronto in Dundein.  Pedro Alvarez doubled twice, and scored both times.  Colby Rasmus drove home a pair of runs for the Blue Jays.

The Pirates (3-1-1 in Grapefruit League play) will host the Boston Red Sox (1-2) on Monday afternoon in Bradenton.
