Andrew McCutchen drove in two runs, and Michael McKenry went 2-for-2 on Wednesday afternoon in a 9-3 preseason victory over the Boston Red Sox at Fort Myers, Florida.

From the leadoff position, Starling Marte and Jose Tabata combined for a pair of hits and four runs scored.  Starting pitcher Jeff Locke worked four innings of three-hit ball, allowing one run with three strikeouts and two walks.

The Red Sox rested many of their projected regular season players, but still managed ten hits to the Pirates’ eleven.

Pittsburgh (4-7) will host Tampa Bay (8-4) in Bradenton on Thursday afternoon.
