In a cash deal Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Pirates acquired right-handed pitcher Vance Worley from the Minnesota Twins.

Worley was the Twins’ opening day starter last season, but went 1-5 with a 7.21 ERA in ten starts, and spent most of the rest of the year at “AAA” Rochester.

The Twins had obtained Worley in a trade that sent outfielder Ben Revere to the Philadelphia Phillies.

This spring, Worley had pitched 10 and two-thirds innings for the Twins, and had tallied an ERA of 13.50.
