Pens Win In Overtime In Montreal

Brandon Sutter scored the game-winner some 52 seconds into overtime on Saturday night, and the Pittsburgh Penguins avoided an 0-3 road trip with a 7-6 victory in Montreal.

Sutter, Matt Cooke and Chris Kunitz each scored two goals for Pittsburgh (14-8), and Sidney Crosby added another.  Tomas Vokoun (4-3) earned the win in goal, stopping 33 of 39 shots.

In the battle between the two highest-scoring teams in the NHL’s Eastern Conference, Montreal (14-4-4) received a pair of goals from Brian Gionta and single scores from David Desharnais, P.K. Subban and Brandon Prust.  Carey Price took the loss.

Montreal outshot the Penguins 39-26.

On Monday night, the Pens will return home to face the Tampa Bay Lightning (9-11-1) in a 7:00 PM game at Consol Energy Center.  Radio pregame airtime on 96.3 KQW will be 6:30 PM.
