Pens Use Power Play To Double Up Lightning 6-3

The Pittsburgh Penguins (31-10) used three power play goals on Thursday night to sail to a 6-3 road victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning (17-21-2).

Pascal Dupuis recorded his 20th goal on a power play, and added two assists for his second straight 3-point night.  Chris Kunitz and Tanner Glass also tallied power play goals, with Glass scoring for the first time this season.  Jussi Jokinen found the net twice, and Evgeni Malkin recorded his eighth goal.

Tomas Vokoun (11-4) stopped 16 of  Tampa Bay’s lowly total of 19 shots to pick up the win in goal.

The Lightning also scored three times on the power play, with two of the goals being tallied by Teddy Purcell and another by Brett Connolly.

The Pens have won 18 of their last 20 games.

The Penguins will try for a three-game sweep on their current southern road trip with a Saturday night game against the Florida Panthers in Sunrise, Florida.  Radio pregame time on 96.3 KQW will be 7:00 PM.
