The Pittsburgh Penguins scored three times in the third period on Thursday night to rebound from a 2-0 deficit and post a 3-2 home victory in a rematch with the team they defeated in the Stanley Cup final, the San Jose Sharks (3-2).

Evgeni Malkin, Scott Wilson and Patric Hornqvist all scored in a period of just over nine minutes to lift the Penguins (3-1-1) to their third regulation win this season.  The Sharks dropped the decision in the last game of a season-opening, five-game road trip.

Hornqvist’s game-winner came with 5:58 remaining in the contest.

Marc-Andre Fleury was in goal for Pittsburgh for the fifth straight game.  Fleury (3-1-1) stopped 32-of-34 shots to earn the win.  San Jose’s Martin Jones (2-2) took the loss, despite facing only 20 shots-on-goal.

The Penguins will travel to Nashville to take on the Predators on Saturday night.  Pregame airtime on 96.3 KQW will be 7:30 PM.
