Although they were swept in four games by the Boston Bruins in last spring’s NHL Eastern Conference finals, the Pittsburgh Penguins now have a seven-game regular season winning streak over Boston, thanks to a 3-2 win by the Pens on Wednesday night at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.

Chris Kunitz, Brandon Sutter and Jussi Jokinen scored for the Pens, and goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury (9-2) stopped 21 of 23 shots for the win.  Sutter’s first goal of the season tied the game at 2-2 with 9:00 left in the game, and Jokinen scored the game-winner with 2:02 left.

The Penguins’ Pascal Dupuis reportedly lost four teeth when he took a stick, apparently teammate Kris Letang’s, in the mouth.

Patrice Bergeron and former Penguin Jarome Iginla both scored for Boston (7-4).  Tuukka Rask (6-4) took the loss.

Pittsburgh (9-4) now holds a seven-point lead over both Carolina and the New York Islanders in the NHL’s Metropolitan Division.

Over the weekend, the Penguins will play a home-and-home series with the Columbus Blue Jackets (5-6).  Friday’s contest will be played in Pittsburgh.  The Saturday game in Columbus will be broadcast on 96.3 KQW, beginning at 6:30 PM.
