Pens’ 11-Game Home Winning Streak Ends With 3-2 Loss To New Jersey

February 28, 2018

Stefan Noesen scored a tie-breaking goal early in the third period on Tuesday night, leading the New Jersey Devils to a 3-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins and ending the Penguins’ home winning streak at eleven games.

Taylor Hall tallied a goal and an assist for the Devils, becoming only the fifth NHL player in the last 25 years to score points in 22 consecutive games.

Kyle Palmieri also scored for New Jersey, and Keith Kinkaid (15-8-2) made 36 saves to earn the win.

The Pittsburgh goals were scored by Sidney Crosby and Matt Hunwick.  Casey DeSmith (3-4) took the loss in goal with starting goaltender Matt Murray sidelined due to a concussion.  DeSmith stopped 35-of-38 shots.

The Penguins will play the Bruins in Boston on Thursday night.  Radio pregame airtime on 96.3 KQW will be 6:30 PM.
