Pennsylvania’s statewide archery deer season will begin Saturday (Oct. 5).
Archers will be able to hunt statewide through November 16. A late archery deer season is scheduled for December 26 through January 11.
Hunters may utilize a long, recurve or compound bow, or a crossbow. The Pennsylvania Game Commission reminds archers that bows must have a draw weight of at least 35 pounds, and crossbows must have a minimum draw weight of 125 pounds.
Articles on archery hunting safety, and information on hunting in the state’s two Disease Management Areas where Chronic Wasting Disease has been discovered are available on the commission’s website, pgc.state.pa.us.
