Pennsylvanians Must Register On Job Search Website To Receive Unemployment Pay

The state Department of Labor and Industry is reminding us that unemployed Pennsylvanians must now register on a job search website to qualify to receive unemployment compensation.

The requirement took effect last month, and applies only to new applicants who have filed for jobless benefits since August 19.  It states that those who have applied for unemployment benefits must register within 30 days at jobgateway.pa.gov

The regulations also include a requirement that an applicant keep records concerning job searches.

The state can now withhold benefits from applicants who fail to register.
