The Pennsylvania Game Commission reminds us that hunting and furtaker licenses for the 2014-2015 seasons go on sale on Monday (June 9). They add that license fees remain unchanged — still at prices established in 1999.
All Game Commission region offices, the commission’s Harrisburg headquarters and more than 600 issuing agents sell the licenses over the counter. They are also available online at pa.wildlifelicense.com.
The licenses become effective July 1, and will be valid through June 30, 2015. As with hunting and furtaker licenses for the previous twelve months, permits allowing the use of shooting ranges at state game lands are also ready to expire, and need to be renewed by July 1.
The Game Commission points out that applications for elk licenses must be submitted earlier this year, and although a hunting license is not require to apply for an elk license, many hunters do not apply until after they have purchased their general hunting license. The deadline to apply for an elk license is July 31, about a month earlier than last year.
