PennDOT’s District 1 Survey Reveals Drivers’ Concerns As Snow And Ice, Rough Pavement And Potholes

Officials from PennDOT’s District 1 northwest Pennsylvania region say 715 drivers took their annual online customer survey this year.

It appears that the prime concerns of motorists in this area are snow and ice, rough pavement and potholes.  Highway congestion was listed as the least pressing concern.

Respondents say they most want smoother roads, longer-lasting pavement and timely road repairs.  They gave PennDOT good marks for their information regarding construction and work zones, and for providing reasonable and predictable travel times.

Once a year, District 1 rolls out a survey asking regional drivers to rate PennDOT’s performance, and tell them what is important to them in terms of topics such as road smoothness, traffic flow, construction, safety and communications.

This year’s survey results may be found at penndot.gov/District1 under “District Links.”
