PennDOT has let us in on the schedule of their planned road maintenance work for Venango County for the week of September 23.
Spokesman Jim Carroll tells KQW the slate of activity includes work on the replacement of the Utica Road Bridge in Canal Township, and shoulder stabilization work on Interstate 80 from the Mercer County line all the way east to the Emlenton I-80 exit (Exit 42).
PennDOT workers will be sealing cracks on various locations on Routes 8 and 62, and cutting shoulders on various roads in the Utica area.
Other jobs will include patching on Route 157, ditch work on Route 27, both patching and ditch work on Route 38 near Richey Run, east of Emlenton, and spray patching on Route 268 near Emlenton.
An earlier statement from PennDOT had indicated that the Riverside Drive area of Route 62 in Cranberry Township, bordering Oil City’s East End would be reopened to traffic on Tuesday (Sept. 24). That stretch of highway has been closed for a bridge replacement project related to the realignment of Seneca Hill. An update from PennDOT on that work is expected sometime on Monday.
