PennDOT has announced its road maintenance schedule for Venango County for the week of July 21.
Side dozing work will be conducted on Route 8 and crack sealing on Route 417, both in Cherrytree Township. Patching is scheduled for Nickelville Road (Route 2011) in Richland Township. Ditch work is planned for Georgetown Road (Route 3003) in Irwin Township. And, crews will be cutting road shoulders on many state highways in the Cooperstown area.
PennDOT spokesman Jim Carroll also tells KQW new highway paving projects have been added to the district’s 2014 schedule through funding obtained via the state’s new transportation act. Those jobs will commence immediately and should be completed in October. They will include a nearly eight-mile stretch of Route 308 from “Old Route 8” to the Butler County line and five miles of Route 322 west of Franklin from McCleery Road in the Wyattville area to Atlantic Avenue in Franklin.
