Penn State, Pitt Lose At The Legends Classic

Despite a career-high 31 points from Tony Carr and 25 points from Lamar Stevens, the Penn State Nittany Lions lost for the first time this season on Tuesday night, dropping the championship game of the Legends Classic 98-87 to 16th-ranked Texas A&M at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The Aggies (4-0) placed five people in double figures, led by Duane Wilson with 22 points and Robert Williams with 21.  Tyler Davis added 15 points, Admon Gilder recorded 14 and Tonny Torcha-Morelos contributed 11.

Penn State (5-1) will host Oral Roberts on Friday.

Oklahoma State (4-1) defeated Pitt 73-67 in the tournament’s consolation game.  Mike Boynton led the Cowboys with 29 points, and Pitt was paced by Shamiel Stevenson with 16.

Pitt fell to 1-4.
