Penn State Now 5-3 Following 24-17 OT Win Over Illinois

Christian Hackenberg threw an overtime touchdown pass to Kyle Carter, and Ryan Keiser picked off an attempt at a matching score on a pass by Illinois quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase, and Penn State pulled out a 24-17 overtime decision at home over the Fighting Illini on Saturday afternoon.

Sam Ficken’s field goal had tied the game at the end of regulation play.  The Nittany Lions improved to 5-3 overall, and to 2-2 in Big Ten Conference play.

Allen Robinson caught 11 passes for 165 yards for the Nittany Lions.  Hackenberg and Bill Belton both scored on touchdown runs.
