Penguins Split Pair Of Weekend Road Games

The Pittsburgh Penguins broke even on a pair of road games over the weekend, winning 6-1 in Carolina on Friday night and losing 6-5 to the Florida Panthers in Sunrise, Florida on Saturday.

Phil Kessel and Evgeni Malkin both scored a pair of goals and both added an assist on Friday night, while Jake Guentzel also tallied three points, with a single goal and two assists.  Sidney Crosby and Ollie Maatta also found the net for Pittsburgh.

Malkin recorded another pair of goals on Saturday night, and the Penguins bounced back from a 4-1 deficit to tie the contest in Florida at 5-5, but the Panthers’ Evgenii Dadanov broke the deadlock with 1:53 left in the game by completing a hat trick.  Vincent Trocheck, Jamie McGinn and Derek MacKenzie also scored for Florida, and Carl Hagelin, Patric Hornqvist and Bryan Rust tallied goals for the Penguins.

Pittsburgh will host New Jersey on Tuesday night.  Radio pregame airtime on 96.3 KQW will be 6:30 PM.
