The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed 26 year-old forward Matt D’Agostini to a one-year contract reported to be worth $550,000.
D’Agostini played in 13 games apiece for the St. Louis Blues and the New Jersey Devils in 2012-2013, scoring 6 points (3 goals, 3 assists). He also played for Germany’s SC Riessersee team during the NHL’s early-season lockout.
D’Agostini was a 6th-round draft choice of the Montreal Canadiens in 2005. He has played in 264 regular season NHL games, scoring 95 points (47 goals, 48 assists), and scored once in seven postseason games. His best season came with the Blues in 2010-2011 when he played in all 82 regular season contests and tallied 46 points (21 goals, 25 assists).
