Penguins Lose For 6th Time In Last Eight Games

Drew Doughty broke a 2-2 tie with the go-ahead goal with 16:09 left in the game, and the Los Angeles Kings tied a franchise-record with their eighth straight road victory, defeating the Penguins 3-2 on Thursday night at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.

The loss was the sixth in the last eight games for the Penguins, who were beaten in three of their four contests in a now-completed  homestand.

Jeff Carter and Alec Martinez also scored for the Kings (43-25-6), and goaltender Martin Jones made 35 saves.

Chris Kunitz tallied his 33rd goal of the season for the Penguins (46-22-5), and Taylor Pyatt added his fourth.  Rookie Jeff Zatkoff (12-5-1) took the loss, stopping 29 of 32 shots.

Pittsburgh will visit Columbus (37-29-6) on Friday night.  Radio pregame airtime on 96.3 KQW will be 6:30 PM.
