The Pittsburgh Penguins missed the net on all 29 of their tries on Saturday night – several of their attempts clanging off the posts of the Boston goal – and the homestanding Pens dropped a 3-0 decision to the visiting Bruins in the first game of the NHL Eastern Conference finals.

Game two of the best-of-seven series will be played at 8:00 PM Monday at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.  Radio pregame airtime on 96.3 KQW will be 7:30 PM.

Tuuka Rask posted the shutout for Boston.  David Krecji scored twice for the Bruins.  Nathan Horton added the third goal after assisting on both of Krecji’s scores.  Boston outshot Pittsburgh 30-29.  Both teams were 0-for-4 on the power play.

The Pens had beaten the Bruins in all three of their regular season meetings.
