Patterson’s 28 Points Paces Pitt Past Terps 83-79

Lamar Patterson exploded for 28 points Saturday night, helping lift Pitt past Maryland for the second time this season in an 83-79 win at College Park, Maryland.

Patterson hit 8 of his 14 shots from the floor and went 12-for-14 from the free throw line.  Talib Zanna added 16 points for the Panthers (18-2; 6-1 ACC), and James Robinson scored 13.

Dez Wells led Maryland (11-9; 3-4) with 19 points, and Jake Layman recorded 18.

Pitt will host Duke (16-4; 5-2) on Monday at 7:00 PM at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh.
