PennDOT says it is now possible for Pennsylvania residents to obtain online replacements for drivers licenses and state-issued photo identification cards.
When applying, you must enter your drivers license or photo I-D number, your date of birth and the last four digits of your Social Security number. After applying, online customers seeking a replacement drivers license may print out a copy of a temporary license which would be valid for fifteen days.
A $13.50 fee will be charged to a customer’s credit card for the new license or photo I-D. The fee for a duplicate copy of a class “M” motorcycle license is $18.50. PennDOT says there is no additional fee for making the transaction online. Apparently, the service will not be available for commercial drivers licenses.
Driver and vehicle online services are available 24 hours a day and seven days a week at www.dmv.state.pa.us
