One person died and well over two dozen were injured in a pair of traffic pileups on two different Interstate highways in Pennsylvania on Friday.

Both series of incidents were attributed to heavy snow squalls.

The fatality was reported, along with 23 injuries, in a 32-vehicle collision on Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County at about 2:45 PM on Friday afternoon.  Three of the injured parties were airlifted to distant hospitals.  The deceased crash victim was identified as 55 year-old Charles Ehrenberg, from Hazleton.

An unknown number of injuries was reported at about the same time in a pileup involving 45 vehicles on Interstate 80 in Clinton County.  State Police officials say those incidents began with a pair of collisions near mile marker 189 in Greene Township.  The westbound lanes of I-80 were closed until nearly 8:00 AM Saturday
