Oil City’s Christmas Past Weekend Begins Thursday

The annual Christmas Past weekend in Oil City will begin Thursday (Nov. 30) with caroling and the lighting of the community Christmas tree at 5:30 PM on the city’s North Side, and a 7:00 PM Christmas concert at the Free Methodist Church on Wilson Avenue.

Friday’s activities will include Santa’s Playland at Christ Episcopal Church on Central Avenue on the South Side, outdoor games at Central Avenue Plaza, and a chili cook-off and a student art show at the Oil City Library.

On Saturday morning, Grace United Methodist Church will host a Victorian Christmas breakfast, and a Breakfast with Santa will kick off activities at St. Stephen School.  The Jingle Bell Run, a 5-K race and walk, will start at 9:00 AM at Town Square.  Bazaars and Christmas sales are scheduled at the Belles Lettres Club, the Venango Museum of Art, Science and Industry, the Knights of Columbus, Grace United Methodist Church and the Pointe.

Holiday music, served up with light refreshments, is Sunday’s scheduled event, starting at 3:00 PM at the Venango Museum.
